Activate Selma Group Receives Grant for Pocket Parks
Activate Selma has received a $750 Johnston County Community Foundation Grant for its pocket park project.
“We are so pleased to be awarded this grant from the JCCF,” said Kim Wooten, president of Activate Selma.
The money will help spruce up two pocket parks downtown — the Art Out Loud Park on South Raiford Street and Vick Park at 112 E. Anderson St.
“Downtown Selma is the ‘living room’ of our town, and we want our residents, visitors and guests to feel at home when they visit our two pocket parks,” Wooten said. “We are excited to continue the parks’ transformation, and this grant will make that process possible much sooner than expected.”
