Chamber salutes Activate Selma

Activate Selma was among the winners when the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce presented its first Legacy Awards.

The group is made up of residents, volunteers and business owners in Selma who are revitalizing and uplifting their community.

Activate Selma is known for its vision statement, which says, “We don’t complain; we take action.”

The group’s focus is downtown Selma, where members connect, communicate and cross-promote. They have taken initiative and ownership, creating and organizing events, encouraging local artists, obtaining grants and making visual improvements.

Activate Selma believes that group projects are small steps that spark big change. Members are on a mission to create a new record of success for Selma.
